Last days to register for the Electronic Judicial Domicile (DJE)

By May 30th, next Thursday, all companies must be duly registered on this platform, established by the National Council of Justice (CNJ).

DJE is a digital tool that centralizes court summons and subpoenas, covering the parent company, its subsidiaries and controlled companies in the same space. The system interface is intuitive and resembles the well-known Federal Revenue Service E-CAC Portal. Access is via corporate digital certificate and CNPJ.

We emphasize that registration is compulsory and, in the absence of voluntary action on the part of the company, the CNJ will proceed with automatic registration. From the deadline onwards, all judicial communications will be directed through DJE, making active and constant monitoring of the platform essential to avoid missing procedural deadlines in the Judiciary.

For citations, the deadline for opening is up to three business days, while for other notifications, the deadline is up to 10 calendar days. After these periods, the notification is considered read, and the procedural deadlines begin to flow, which may result in fines of up to 5% of the value of the case, if the communication is not accessed in time. Furthermore, once the procedural deadline has passed without a response from the company, the right to defense/appeal in the process in question will be lost.

In view of this scenario, we ask that, upon receiving any communication via DJE, you please notify us immediately, before proceeding with opening it in the system. This action will allow us to determine the most strategic moment to become aware of the announcement, minimizing the risk of losses resulting from missed court deadlines.

Although the DJE represents an advance in the management of judicial communications to companies, our LH team will continue to monitor subpoenas and summonses through the Courts’ own Courts and systems, as usual and in a complementary manner. However, the responsibility for monitoring and accessing communications in DJE lies with each company.
